1. Put the Pedal to the Metal

Pops of metal add a whole new dimension to a space. As you can see in the elegant living rooms below, this material can be incorporated in limitless ways. Light fixtures, sculptures, and even furniture with metallic touches can add just the right amount of shine to a space. The good news is, there are few design styles metal doesn’t mix with. Find it in glamorous spaces or industrial spaces. You can mix and match within a space, too -- word on the street is mixed metals are all the rage.

2. Go for a Glitter Effect

While visions of childhood craft rooms covered in an impossible amount of glitter may come to mind when broaching the topic, it’s possible for glitter to be grown up too. The key? Don’t overdo it. The glittery light fixture in the dining room below steals the show without getting gaudy. Use it as the focal point in the room.

3. Add Refined Rocks

If the glitter trend seems to be a little too much, the geode and crystal trend might fit better with your personal taste. They are a more subtle, natural take on bling. Small details made of geodes and crystals are elegant ways to incorporate this trend. Placing an actual geode or crystal sculpture anywhere that needs a little sparkle is an effortless way to add some glamour to a space. This is a newer trend, and we predict it’s here to stay for a while!

4. Make it Crystal Clear

Try working in clear crystal elements and acrylic into your space for some extra glam. They take up little visual spaces because of their transparent quality, but still add just the right amount of pizazz.

5. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

There’s no doubt that the reflective quality of mirrors can crank up the glam in a space. Try using mirrored accessories and furniture for a fun spin on things. They will reflect light into your room and add a little sparkle.
